HOW TO REMOVE STAINS AND DISCOLOURATION ON PATENT LEATHER SHOES AND BAGS

Hello

So you just learnt how to care for that precious patent leather bag from our post here. Unfortunately, your bag or shoe has already been discoloured. Good news is with these simple tips below, you can clean that bag with items in your cabinets back home. And voila............. the bag is as good as new

Tip one: Clean with a soft cloth to wipe out loose dust and dirt.

Tip two: Using water and mild soap with a soft rag, clean out any dulls or gloom, air dry and shine with a clean dry rag
Alternatively, wipe with baby wipes

Tip three: Using a clean soft rag, rub Vaseline on the dicoulored/ stained area and rub gently until the stains vanishes
Alternatively, use olive oil or hair spray

Tip four: Dip a soft clan rag in colourless vinegar and rub gently on the affected area until the stain vanishes

Tip five: As a last resort, dip a cotton ball in nail polish remover and gently rub on the affected area until the stain vanishes.

You have to be extremely patient when removing these stains. Avoid the temptation to scrub hard and NEVER use hard bristles to remove stains as this will cause more harm than good

Did you try out the tips, give us feedback on the comment section

HOW TO STRETCH/ EXPAND TIGHT SHOES

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

So you acquired this gorgeous pair of shoes and on reachimg home, magically the shoe is too tight. whew!!!!!!!! The truth is, when we go to buy shoes, we only test the shoes sitting at a spot or at most just walk round the small shop. The difference can be the case when worn out for an occassion especially if the show has a amll fit. Somrtimes, going a size up is not an option as a bigger size might tend to fall off your feet. In cases like this, youe best bet is to buy your regulaar size and do a bit of expansion if the shoe is really worth dying for. Here are a few tips to expand a tight shoe:

Wear your shoes daily round the house until you notice some expansion

Stuff old newspapers. thick socks or shoe horn overnight

Pour some water in a nylon bag, stuff into the shoes and put the shoes in your freezer overnight. remove the shoes from the freezer, allow the ice to de-freeze then take out the water (No try am if the shoe na expensive shoes ooo. No be me send you ooo)

Put on extra thick socks (as much as you can wear and still squeeze into the shoes), wear the shoes and blast away using your plugged hand dryer. Wiggle your toes, bend and stretch your feet and continue heating up for a while. Torn off the hand dryer and wear shoes till it cools before taking it off.

Any of the process used above can be repeated till you get your required fit

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

Patent leather is simply leather that has been coated with gloss or lacquer giving it a high shine. Practically every girl has one or two patent leather shoe or bag or even belt. Below are few tips on how to care for your patent leather as they tend to get discoloured or stained if improperly maintained.. Below are few tips:

Proper storage: Prevention is always better than cure. If tightly packed, the shoes or bags may rub of on each other and over time, it can peel off, get scratched or worst still the colour of the other item may rub off on the patent causing a discolouration or stain. Its best stored in a dust bag

Clean regularly: Over time, you may start noticing a dull on your patent leather bag or shoe. It is advised that you clean regularly with mild soap and water.

DANGER SIGN: SHE IS GOOD FOR GIRLFRIEND BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR MARRIAGE.

Hello Sweet!!

So, I was watching this Uche Jumbo Rodriguez's film, Mrs Somebody with a friend of mine and her first boyfriend's character really struck me. We entered into serious discussion so I did some research and hence, this post. Why will a guy who has all it takes to maintain a wife and family, is under pressure from home to take a wife, is matured enough to do so or has even proposed (you don wear engagement ring for more than two years ooo) and yet, has no wedding date is in sight???? Sweetheart, it seems to me that you have been wasting time on Mr Left. Today, we will discuss some of the warning signs you need to know that Le boo is far from heading to the altar. You may just be one of those on the list "Good enough for GF but not Wifey"

  • He evades friends and family: You have been dating a guy for years and you do not know his close friends nor any member of your family and avoids knowing yours even when you have tried
  • Improper introduction: Everyone around knows you are his babe, fine. But what does he introduce you as? Friend, girlfriend or what??
  • Indecisive: He has no voice of his own, every idea you bring is OK. He relies on his mother for every single ting. Babe, except you are on mumsy's good books, your dream of walking down the altar is on a longggggggggggg thing
  • He has commitment issues: Its OK to change a job or business line if you feel the next one is more lucrative but a guy that hops from job to job every single year has commitment issues. Mind you, it may not be just job he has commitment issues with.
  • No value for your opinion: Does he even seek your opinion at all? If he has future plans with you, of course he should ask for your opinion especially on crucial matters. When asked and you offer constructive opinion, does he make use of them or does he ask just for the sake of asking.
  • Little or no interest in your affairs: A guy who cannot tell who you really are, what you like or dislike, how you really feel after a full year of dating obviously has no plans for you.
  • Pure critic: Nothing you do is ever good enough. He knows everything while you don't. He overreacts at every single mistake. If you are not good enough in trivial matters, na for wife you wan dey good enough?
  • Thinks you nag a lot: No man wants a wife who will nag him to death. If he starts complaining often that you nag too much, sweetheart, he is seriously looking for an exit.
  • Sudden change in attitude: When you have dated a guy for too long and suddenly, his attitude changes negatively, he is giving you a serious clue which should not be ignored at all
  • Gets agitated by the M-word: Ok, am not saying you should do the proposal or start asking for wedding date like two weeks into a relationship but if you have been with a guy for a while, you should at least know where you are headed. If he gets constantly irritated of defensive over the M-word, you should seriously find the smelling rat.
  • Playboy: The guy flirts for Africa and you are giving excuses for him. I just don't get it when I hear girls say "A man can love you but still cheat on you" As in what naa? Oh girl, you may be the Mrs Right sha or just a pawn in the game of chess
  • Single but married: He asks you to move in with him because he really loves and misses you and all the rest of the jargon and you agreed. You guys have lived together for how long? 6 months, a year or more?? Why buy a cow when you can get free milk.
I will stop here for now. Sleep don de worry me. But babe seriously, except you equally want to string along for the ride, you should seriously do a check like right now. Shopping in the most expensive malls these days doesn't really mean anything especially those who can afford it. Baby mama has become the order of the day so you better watch it.

DOS AND DONTS OF WEARING ACCESSORIES

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

When I say accessories, I mean earrings, necklaces, bangles, rings scarfs and all those things that are not a part of your clothing. The real essence of an accessory is to complement and not compete (bear that in mind) Below are few tips on how to wear your accessories right.
http://gorgeousingrey.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Anna-Dello-Russo-h-and-m-accessories.jpg

Don't wear long earring with huge necklace
Tone it down if your dress has much details
Don't over accessorize. Make sure you know where to draw the line
Consider wearing complementary colours of different hues of the same shade
Don't wear statement earring and statement necklace together
Make sure the earring suits your facial feature
Accessories should complement your body frame. Keep it small if you are petite and vice versa
Go bold in areas you want to draw attention to
Make sure its suitable for the occasion/ outfit
Dont wear your shades indoors. There's a reason its called sunshade

DENIM ON DENIM

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

Like seriously, back in the days, denim on denim or double denim or whatever it is called was a big NO NO. Coupled wit the Justin Timberlake -  Britney Spears fiasco, we considered that style a serious fashion faux pas. But guess what, with celebs like Jessica Alba, Kate Walsh, Selena Gomez and even Riri rocking the double denim in the most stylish manner, we have been compelled to change our mind. However, when wrongly worn, you could be turning heads for all the wrong reasons.Truth be told, not everybody can pull this look. Below are some tips to wear double denim like a pro.

http://www.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/2014811/rs_1024x759-140911192009-1024.Trend-Tracker-Denim.ms.091114.jpg

Play with colours: You can play around with different colours (complementary though) to find out which suits you better.
Keep it simple: Yes we say monochrome and all that stuff but you may consider the denim on your clothing alone. Ditch the head to toe denim accessory
Wear different washes: This is one of the basic rules to pulling off this look. Wear lighter washes on top and the darker below and vice versa. Depending on what you want to achieve, the first look is usually preferable as dark washes tend to give a slimming look when worn below
Pair with prints or bold colours: Consider wearing print tees or shirts in between
Pair with killer heels: If you can walk on them ooo. We dont want you tripping and falling now. Do we?
Go distress
Make sure the fit is perfect:  Double denim is preferable when worn in straight legs not baggies
Lastly and finally (lol) Belt it

DRESSING FAB IN BRIGHT COLOURS.

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

They say black is beautiful and I totally agree. But does that really mean been sentenced to a life of black outfits like one in mourning? Of course, NO. Bright colours have a way of lifting your mood, making you look youthful and attractive. Am not talking of colour riots here or Mr rainbow because, babe believe me.......... You could be turning heads for all the wrong reasons you know. So here are a few tips on how to rock bright colour and i mean rock em right.

Pair with neutrals and blacks. Nudes aren't the only neutral colours you know. Ivory, blacks, whites and even gray are all part of the neutral family. Consider wearing the brights on your hot spot and then toning down with a neutral

Pair with dark shades. Just like in neutral, dark shades are a fun contrast to brights. In this family, we have the blacks, the deep browns, olives or blue, navy and so on

Wear same colour in different hues. You can dress colorful choosing different components from the same colour pallete contratsing the darker shade with the lighter

Pair with denim. Bright colours work so well on denims. Try it out if you haven't.

Go accessories. Add a dash of accesories........... belts, scarfs, jewelry and whatever works for you. But hey!!!! don't over do it

Wear complementary colours. Who says you can't colourblock? You know what they say? Unlike terms attract and stuffs like that. The trick to colourblocking is to have a mental picture of your colour wheel. Colours opposite each other are called complementary colours.

STYLISH WAYS TO WEAR A BELT

Hello Sweet Sweet!!

Pardon my long absence. Yours truly has been a bit under the weather for sometime and am glad to have you back again. So today, we will try out ideas on how to rock a belt. So lets roll.....................

Just so you know, belt is one of the hardest accesories in your closet. Reason been that it can be fashionable, add life to an outfit and really accentuate your curves IF and ONLY IFworn properly.
https://iamiconicme.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/belts-on-celebs.jpg

Rule 1: Wear a belt when there is something to belt. Either moving from a loose fitting top to tight bottom and vice versa
Rule 2: Similar to 1 though, avoid wearing belt on a bodycon dress
Rule 3: Consider your body shape. Wear a belt to accentuate your thin waist line and curves
Rule 4: Wear a belt you are comfortable in. Not too tight nor too long as to leave excesses hanging out.
Rule 5: Belts tend to draw attention so wear it at your most flattering spot
Rule 6: Use contrast colour belts if you have a defined waist line or opt for a blend with your outfit if opposite
